Hi! I’m Melissa, a 500-hr yoga educator, toddler-mom, and movement optimist! My approach to yoga asana and movement is FUNctional, inquiry-based, and dogma free. This allows me to incorporate a variety of other movement modalities into my practice, as well as the latest and greatest in scientific research. Fundamental to my teaching is a reverence for all human form and function and a humble deference to the body’s innate intelligence. My approach to teaching is a true reflection of my childlike curiosity, compassionate nature, and genuine zest for life. A consummate student, my biggest teacher is my 4 yr old son. My “movement guru” inspires me to move in a myriad of playful and adaptive ways serving as a powerful reminder of the value and importance of human creativity, variability and FUN! Move with Melissa - my virtual yoga and movement studio was born more or less out of necessity. While I've always wanted to shift my offerings online to reach a broader audience, I never felt like I was ready or that the time was right. And, then I became a mother, and everything changed.
It just didn't make sense any more to spend my precious evenings and weekends in yoga studios and not with my family. So, after over a decade of teaching in person teacher trainings, group classes, privates, workshops, retreats, etc., I am thrilled to finally bring my yoga and movement offerings ONLINE!
Now I'm able to offer my students the same accessibility and flexibility that I was looking for in my work/life balance, while not compromising on the quality of the content.
